Deulmoon

Date: 2018

Deulmoon is the door of Korean traditional architecture. It is used to ventilate a space and use space flexibly. The boundary between inside and outside is ambiguous in traditional Korean house. I used this changeability when I designing this light.

Unlike contamporary architecture which clearly divide inside and out- side, Korean traditional housing has not divided them. This system is useful for using space variously. So when I designed the lamp, I mainly considered how to extract variability about using space. I borrowed the structure and designed to control the intensity of light. Every time you turn the rotating part, the light reflections change from time to time and produce various shapes.
